“Waiting for the Light” Storytelling Performance

November 6, 2010

Members of Ana el-Hekkeya (a group of writers, academics and cultural producers) will perform original stories based on recent workshops held to re-examine the gender stereotypes in our lives.

The stories were informed by case studies from researchers within the Pathways of Women’s Empowerment research consortium and used by young writers, journalists and bloggers to write creative stories about women’s daily lives in the Middle East.

Performance in Arabic
Oriental Hall (Downtown AUC campus), Cairo, Egypt

Saturday, November 6
8 pm
Free Admission

The women involved in Ana el-Hekkeya were previously in a group called Qalet el-Rawiyeh (supported by the Women and Memory Forum) which has put on similar performances.
